This is the moment a Lion shakes his impressive mane dry - creating amazing patterns with water droplets which spray off him.

Photographer Gary Herman, 67, managed to capture the exact moment the lion shook the water from his mane showing patches of water around it.

Gary says he 'couldn't believe it' when managed to get this shot as he went off road in a private truck and drove around the Southern Serengeti, in Tanzania. He waited two hours to capture this perfect image and positioned his truck only 12ft away away.

'Spending time close to lions is exhilarating and a bit scary,' he said.
